Under the motto ‘Eventers from Westfalia’, the Westfälisches Pferdestammbuch organised an online auction for future eventing horses for the first time, in which young horses for the cross country proved to be popular acquisitions.

A total of 10 future eventing horses were presented for sale, with eight finding new owners. On average the enthusiastic customers invested €17,656.
It marked the conclusion of a successful pilot project by the Westfalian Studnook, as it was the first time that an online auction ‘Eventing from Westfalia’ was exclusively dedicated to young cross-country horses. Six were already under saddle, plus four youngsters were consigned for sale in the auction.
The most popular horse of the evening was Salomon with head number four. The six-year-old Sweet Hero x Langata Express xx son, bred by Antonius Kleinebrummel, Gütersloh, exhibited by Clemens Brüggemann and Antonius Kleinebrummel, Gütersloh, had already been well trained and is, therefore, able to directly start in the up-coming competition season. With the necessary Thoroughbred connection, he will give his new owner great pleasure in eventing. A customer from Germany invested €37,000 in the chestnut gelding.
In summarizing, auction manager Thomas Munch said; “This pilot project has shown us that the market for eventing horses is definitely there. We will evaluate the results of this auction and make the necessary adjustments. Basically, we are looking forward to a second edition of this format.”
