The results are now in for the CWHBA 2021 stallion licensing. In total, 11 stallions, ranging in age from two to four years, were presented, of which eight were licensed. Although jumper bloodlines dominated, dressage was also well represented.

These stallions represent a broad spectrum of some of the best performance pedigrees and in some interesting combinations, allowing Canadian mare owners to take full advantage of local access to these top bloodlines.
The final evaluation was conducted online by video, with a panel which included: Jan Ove Olsson from Sweden, Hakan Whalman from Finland, as well as CWHBA representatives, Chris Gould, Christian Poschung, Marilyn Powell, and Janine Olson. It was moderated by studbook committee member, Jennette Coote and, additionally, the process was audited by CWHBA chair Janice Tyndall, as well as Joanne Wright and Julie Pilon.
Owned by Klondike Victory Farms, the champion stallion was My Pleasure Z, a black four year old by For Pleasure out of a mare by Cumano. Without question a stallion with major jumping ability who also showed good elasticity and balance in his gaits.
He was followed closely by the dressage-bred reserve champion Zico von Buchmatt, by Zonik out of a mare by Danone, and owned by Erwin Rohrbach. This impressively bred two-year-ikd presented an elegant and modern picture.
The six other licensed stallions were:
• Quidams Charmeur (Quidam Blue x Come On), owned and bred by Gerrit and Ute Brinkmann: A handsome jumping talent with a harmonious build;
• Night's Watch (Kannan x Cantos), owned by Rosenol Performance Horses: A good type, with substance and impressive jumping ability;
• Son et Lumiere OBF (Emerald van’t Ruytershof x Heartbreaker), owned by Jamie Lee: An elegant stallion with good conformation and correctness as well as strong jumping ability;
• A.S. Sandro's Secret (Sagnol x Riverman), owned by Andre Sigmond: A tall modern dressage type with good gaits, still maturing;
• N Vesuvio (Valentino x Eastern Ruler), owned by Rob Kerr: A modern type with good scope, technique and gallop;
• Sir Vari (Sir Wanabi x Bon Balou), owned by Sheri Whittaker: An attractive and substantial, scopy jumper.
Overall the panel was impressed with the quality of the stallions and pleased with the video evaluation process.
