The Polish Horse Breeders’ Association organized a qualifier for young riding and harness stallions from the 2022 vintage, during a field test hosted from March 18-20 at the National Stidfarm Racot.

Traditional stallions were divided into four groups, based on pedigrees that define the criteria specified for the equestrian discipline. In group A (dressage) four horses were presented, in group B (jumping) 32, in group C (eventing) 12 horses, and in group D (driving) 15 horses.

Dressage group

The winner in this group with a score of 8.0 points was the stallion Blinding Lights PS OLD (Bonjour [Hann] - Vitafina Amour PS OLD x Vitalis [KWPN]). Bred in Germany, the chestnut stallion is owned by the Cichoń brothers’ company – MM Brothers. Blinding Lights PS impressed with his lightness of all movements, receiving the highest marks of all presented horses for his trot with a tendency to self-carriage. According to the commission, he is great sport horse material. His sire, Vitalis (Vivaldi [KWPN] - Tolivia Elite [KWPN]), is one of the most popular dressage sires with 79 recognized sons in Germanu alone, and 451 breeding mares, 86 of whom have obtained the title of staat premium stute. He is owned by Paul Schockemöhle’s stallion station.
Second place, with a score of 7.7 points, was taken by Day Sleeper sp (Secret DSP - Donna Love sp x Pastisz m) bred and owned by Piotr Mazurek. This bay stallion drew attention, among other things, with the breadth of his trot and gallop. His sire, the Polish stallion Secret (Sezuan [DWB] - Seline [Hann] x St. Moritz), was five-year-old dressage vice-champion at the World Breeding Championships for Young Horses (WBCYH) in Ermelo 2019. His grandsire Sezuan DWB (Zack [KWPN] - Boegegaardens Don Romina [DWB] x Don Schufro OLD), was a three-time winner of the dressage WBCYH. Secret DSP has 35 offspring in Poland entered in the Studbook for Polish Sport Horses, and 34 offspring recognized in foreign books.
Third, with a score of 7.6 points, was Index PGN wlkp (Kjento [KWPN] - Intyna wlkp x Barbur sp). The tall, bay stallion was bred and belongs to the Popowo National Studfarm. According to the committee, he is an elegant horse with long lines and good, spacious movements.
