Past champions deliver foal champions in Lithuania

The 2020 Baltic Hanoverian Breeders’ Association (BHVŽAA) foal evaluation event took place at the home ground of the Petraitis family – the Audruvis horse facility in the northern region of Lithuania, where local horses were bred and raised for decades.

The event was brilliantly organized by the BHVŽAA team, headed by Audronė Petraitienė. Nowadays this actively expanding association unites over 70 members, cooperating with other WBFSH member studbooks from throughout Europe, including Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium, Sweden, Estonia, and Latvia.
It was extremely enriching to see all these foals, as there were plenty of good ones to see! Enjoyably noteworthy were the foals from an excellent jumper Bacardi OLD (Balou du Rouet - Jovena x Argentinus); the best six-year-old show-jumping horse of the Baltic countries Westphalian-registered Cornet’s Cloud (Cornet’s Obolensky - Que Sera x Quidam de Revel); and Landru. These three stallions really stood out, particularly Landru. The bay four-year-old KWPN-registered son of well-known showjumping stallion Baltic VDL (Quaprice Bois Margot - Nellandra x Jus de Pomme) out of Afilithya (Indoctro) who, in his first breeding season, has already produced chic and correct foals, that are impressive in appearance and movement as well.

Champion filly, Beauty of Bacardi

All 21 presented foals were judged on correctness, movement, appearance, general impression and maternal lineage, with the champion filly title going to the Baltic Hanoverian-registered Beauty of Bacardi (Bacardi - Beauty Girl x Boegegaardens Boney M) bred and owned by Sigitas Petraitis.

Vice champion colt, Baltic Boy (Landru - Bairona x Baironas)

This filly is by an Oldenburg-registered stallion Bacardi OLD (Balou du Rouet - Jovena x Argentinus), who won the 2015 Sires of the World title in Lanaken under the saddle of Marc Bettinger, as well as recording a number of victories in international Grand Prix classes.
