Under the supervision of Ralph van Venrooij, who started as head of the breeding department on September 1, 2019, the KWPN inspectors will start a new division of tasks during the forthcoming selection season.

Henk Dirksen and Floor Dröge will now be responsible for guiding the stallion selections alongside the mare selections. In this way they will become an advisory team that provides the stallion selection committee with technical information. Because the same inspectors will be present while judging the mares as well as the stallions, the two selection groups will benefit from a closer connection.
Arnold Kootstra will have a higher profile at the mare selections, for which he will henceforth also become the contact person. He will also be a member of the inspection team for the showjumping mares in the EPTM (performance test for young mares). He will also continue judging the IBOP (dressage horse test under saddle) as well as young-horse competitions. Additionally, micro-chipping and several inspection tasks will still be included in his portfolio. He is also the regional inspector (showjumping) of Gelderland, Limburg, Noord-Brabant, Drenthe and Zuid Holland.
Wim Versteeg will be working in the area of promotion and sales, alongside several of his inspection tasks.
According to Ralph van Venrooij: “The inspection team was functioning really well, but due to the specific tasks which the inspectors were performing, the way of working was also vulnerable. In the context of continuity and development within the team, we chose for a new setup, in which there is working together closely on the one hand and on the other hand the inspectors will be able to apply their knowledge and experience in new or additional tasks.”
Floor Dröge will continue to be responsible for the dressage horses, while in the stallion selection Henk Dirksen will focus completely on the showjumping horses, but will also judge the dressage mares. Dirksen will also remain active as a regional inspector of Overijssel, Flevoland and Utrecht and as the contact person of KWPN-NA. They will also both continue judging for IBOP, as well as several other inspection tasks, such as jury training...To read the complete article you need to be a subscriberCLICK HERE TO SUBSCRIBE TO BREEDING NEWS
