Presentation to champion Darling Harbour (Dante Weltino)

The 48th Breeding Championship in Baden-Württemberg saw a noticeable increase this year, not only in quantity but also in great quality, and some of these horses will also now be shown during the ‘Marbach Weekend’ in the autumn.
Achieving an 8.00 for her three great basic gaits, the dark-brown mare Zoé, by Zalando and out of a Fürst Romancier dam, bred by Jose Rief, rocked her presentation. She was ridden by Ramona Ritzel, who purchased Zoé as a foal and will continue to train her. Second place was shared by two horses: The Don Diamond son Damian out a of Sandro Hit mother from the breeders Blessing. Alongside a son of Fürstenball out of a Scolari dam, bred by Resi Woerz. Both finished with an end note of 7.80.

Darling Harbour – winner from the outset

In the field of the four-year-old mares and geldings it was the Danto Weltino son, Darling Harbour, who topped the leaderboard. Bred by Maria and Ekkehard Hellstern the lovely dark gelding really demonstrated his canter highlights on the final day. Runner-up with 8.20 was Donna Tessa, a daughter of Don Frederic out of a Sir Donnerhall dam, bred and owned by Anton Herre. Third was another Don Frederic daughter, out of a mother by French Kiss: Equi Diamonds Doris Day, bred by Stefan Haas and owned by Martina Herboldsheimer.

Stallion champions, First Date and Emilio

He was a class on his own in the field of the three- and four-year-old stallions: the For Romance I x His Highness son First Date. This dark-bay stallion bred and owned by Martha-Rose Kullen impressed with his exceptional basic gaits that were all awarded 8.50. It was once again a winner from the Nördlinger auction that was best of the three-year-old stallions: Emilio. This son of Escolar from a Don Schufro dam was bought by Patricia Reuner Krebs two-and-a half years ago at the Elite Foal Auction. Katrin Burger is now training the horse, bred by Sabine Reisenauer, and presented him with great prowess to score victory with 8.10. Martha-Rose Kullen scored a double as breeder of the runner-up: Doubtless – a son of Don Nobless out of a dam by His Highness...
