On May 31, 2023, Lars Gehrmann (63), breeding manager and managing director of the Trakehner Association and managing director of Trakehner GmbH since 1993, will hand over responsibility to his deputy Neel-Heinrich Schoof (39). Schoof studied agricultural science and has been working for the Trakehner Association since 2015, including in marketing. "The decision I made myself took a long time to mature," says Gehrmann, emphasizing the smooth cooperation with Schoof and the Executive Board. "Neel-Heinrich Schoof is held in high esteem for his competent and extraordinarily committed work," explains Gehrmann, "and he is close to the breeder and close to hippological events."

"In 2023, Lars Gehrmann will have successfully managed the Trakehner Association for 30 years," says Dr. Norbert Camp, Chairman of the Trakehner Association. "We are pleased that he has agreed to remain active in an advisory capacity for the Trakehner Association. The generation change is well prepared.”

Schoof, who comes from a traditional breeder family and whose successor is still open, also looks positively to the future: "I'm looking forward to the new tasks and the responsibility that comes with them. The good cooperation with Lars Gehrmann will make the transition easier.."

Dr. Camp explained: "The current management structure will remain unchanged for another year, and with the early decision-making it should be possible to concentrate fully on the challenging operational tasks."
