The Elmshorn Holsteiner horse days have been a firm fixture on the calendar of breeders, riders, and friends of the Holsteiner horse for many years.

From June 10-14, visitors can once again look forward to a varied programme on the Herbert-Blöcker-show ground featuring top-class sport, breed and marketing events – completed by a jazz concert on Sunday afternoon. In addition to the Holsteiner State Championships in show jumping and dressage, the qualifiers for the Bundeschampionat, the popular foal auction and the Verband mare show, the performance test classes for four- to six-year-old stallions as part of the new stallion performance testing system will once again take place.
Foal auction and finals
Over the years, the foal auction on Saturday has proved a major crowd puller. The catalogue lists a carefully selected lot of foals born in 2026, comprising off-spring by internationally sought-after sires same as foals by promising young stallions. Casall, Cascadello I, Charakter-voll, or Million Dollar and Pegase van’t Ruytershof are some of the sires represented. What all foals on offer have in common is that they come from proven, high-performing Holsteiner mare families – the perfect basis for a future as sport and breeding horses...
