At the end of October 2023, Holsteiner stallions from all over Germany and neighbouring countries gathered together in Elmshorn to participate in the saddle licensing and/or the short-aptitude or sport test. This event was followed by the riding horse auction.
The licensing committee included Stephan Haarhoff, Christian Thoroe, and Matthias Wittke, who granted breeding approval to three stallions following the pavement inspection, free jumping, and assessment under saddle.
On the one hand it was the three-year-old I’m Extra EB (I’m Special de Muze x Colman), bred and owned by Evi Bengtsson (Itzehoe), who impressed in the short ability test with a weighted jumping final score of 8.50. According to breeding manager Stephan Haarhoff; “We saw a stallion with a lot of impression, masculine type, and wearing a wonderful dark coat,” who belong to successful Holstein mare line 6786.
With regard to the four-year-old Crackeur (Crack x Cassini II, breeder Hanno Lorenzen), Haarhoff confirmed that the typical grey horse from line 2978 has a very good topline and an outstanding hindquarters technique. The commission also awarded the four-year-old Bombastic (Baloubet du Rouet x Connor), from Witt Pferdezucht GbR. This tall stallion from successful line 741 has an excellent pedigree and impressed with a lot of ability and athleticism.
In the short test, the three-year-old Braeden (Balou du Rouet x Quevee Prestige) who was bred by Gerhard Ohlsen and licensed and auctioned in Neumünster in February 2023, passed with a weighted jumping final score of 8.66 and claimed the lead. Braeden was registered by Torsten Petith (Bad Homburg), presented by Sarah Pröpper, and awarded a 9.0 for three characteristics; namely his jumping ability, rideability, and willingness to perform...
