The Danish Warmblood stallion licensing at the MCH Exhibition Centre, Herning from March 6-10 is the last in a series of stallion selections hosted by the world's most significant Warmblood breeding federations.
The Danish Warmblood Stallion Show opens on Wednesday, March 6, and includes the licensing of three- and four-year-old, and older stallions combined with international five-star and three-star dressage, plus a three-star jumping with, as well as a Danish Warmblood young horse championship final for five-year-old horses. The event is rounded off with two spectacular Gala Shows on the Friday and Saturday evenings, alongside a trade fair with more than 220 vendors.
As always, this year’s collection from the Danish breeders is eagerly awaited, with foreign young stallions supplementing those bred in Denmark.
Free jumping and lunging
All the stallions are shown in-hand on a hard surface before the breeding committee on Thursday in Dansk Hesteforsikring Arena E. The three-year-old dressage stallions will be lunged on Friday in Krafft Arena M.
There will be 15 three-year-old jumping stallions judged in free jumping on Saturday and Sunday in Krafft Arena M.
The dressage stallions, 33 in total, will be shown loose on Sunday morning inside Jyske Bank Boxen ahead of sorting and awarding.
In the Danish Warmblood selection system, the stallions are divided into groups according to age. While the three-year-old stallions are on their way through the selection process, which culminates on Sunday, some of the four- and five-year-olds and older dressage stallions will be licensed on Tuesday and can participate in the show classes during the stallion show...
