The first Holstein State Champions of 2025 were crowned at the Herbert-Blöcker-Platz in Elmshorn. Cabernet by Cascadello I-Cormint, bred by Hans-Joachim Gerken, received the traditional oak wreath in the five-year-old dressage horse category. Ridden by Roland Metzler, the former Holstein auction horse won the Schönweide Estate Prize with an overall score of 7.6. The new champion was particularly impressive in the scores for suppleness and canter.
In the six-year-old dressage horse category, last year's winner, the dark-chestnut Elfensymphonie YD (Vitalis x Fürstenball), bred by Caroline von Zele, successfully defended her title, having won the chamionship last year with Markus von Holdt. She was awarded the Andreas Bothe prize with an overall score of 8.26. Her trot and suppleness received the highest scores of 8.5.
The first showjumping qualifiers will take place Friday, June 13, with the 4yo at 8:30 a.m., the 5yo at 10:30, and the 7yo at 2:00 p.m. An advanced S-level showjumping class will begin at 4:15, followed by Ride, Dance, Repeat: The tent party for horse fans.
