The first day of this Handorf festival was reported in last month’s issue of World Breeding News, which closed before days two and three – so this article provides a postscript in order to report the event’s dynamic final results.
The Westfalian Studbook celebrated its youngest talents one last time for the year 2024 on day two of the Handorf Festival, when 24 out of 28 of the riding riding horse foals offered for sale found a new owner.
With the head #208, Don Domingo (breeder and exhibitor: Philipp Welsing, Borken) caused a particular stir, as the strong-moving colt is a half-brother to Viviano Gold, who changed hands for €33,333 at this very foal auction exactly one year ago. For this year, the Welsing breeding family had paired their St.Pr.St. Fürstin Cissy (Fürst Magic) with Dynamic Dream. Don Domingo was particularly sought-after by two customers from the Netherlands, who placed their bids online, and even exceeded the hammer price of his half-brother. He changed ownership for the top price to a stallion owner in the Netherlands for €35,500.

With the characteristic name Red Amigas (breeder and exhibitor: Noortje Radstake, Netherlands), this filly changed hands for €16,000.
A real eye-catcher was the top-priced jumping foal. The skewbald colt Diador (Diamant de Klapscheut Z x Caspar: breeder and exhibitor: Matthias Ketelsen, Silberstadt) was highly sought after both online and on site. From Holstein line 8790, Diador was knocked down at a hammer price of €17,000... To read the complete article you need to be a subscriber
