Danish Warmblood: Togetherness and professionalism in focus

At the Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing in Herning, emphasis is placed on information and professionalism during the licensing, young horse championships, and clinics – while at the same time offering plenty of opportunities for socializing and fantastic experiences.

Five days filled with major experiences, with the horse at the center. That is what awaits the audience when the Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing takes place at MCH Messecenter Herning from March 4-8, 2026. The Stallion Licensing is one of the absolute highlights of the year in Danish equestrian sport and breeding, and once again in 2026 the stage is set for an unforgettable event where professionalism, inform-ation, and community go hand in hand.
For Danish Warm-blood, it is crucial to provide the audience with the best possible experience – both for the dedicated professional and the passionate horse enthusiast. Therefore, throughout the entire event there is a strong focus on communication and knowledge-sharing, so everyone can gain greater insight into evaluations, training, and breeding.
In 2025, the Stallion Licensing attracted nearly 61,000 visitors, and interest in 2026 is already high. Ticket sales and VIP seating, are well underway, and intensive work is being done to put together a program that caters to the audience, riders, stallion owners – and not least the horses.

Pre-inspection of young stallions

The Danish Warmblood pre-inspection of young stallions took place during December, with a total of 16 jumping-bred stallions and 24 dressage-bred stallions selected for the licensing.
The best young horses
The young horses competing in the championships for five-year-old dressage and jumping horses have qualified through the Suitability Tests, which were held around the country during October and November. From these, just over 50 of the best dressage horses have been selected for Herning, and according to Bjarne Nielsen – one of the regular judges – the quality has never been higher...
