The 19th National Festival of Brazilian Sport Horses (BH), 2024, concluded with outstanding moments, emphasizing the genetic excellence and performance of breeders, exhibitors, as well as the breed’s products.
During the event, the spotlight shone on rigorous evaluations, high-level competitions, and the celebration of the genetic advancement of Brazil’s national breeding.
Stallion and mare approvals
Over three days of thorough assessments, numerous stallions and mares received final approvals. Rhodium HMS (Great Schufro x Sir Donnerhall) stood out in dressage aptitude with a final score of 8.04, reflecting the genetic evolution of the BH breed.
In the free jumping category, Equicenter Mostang (Mosito van het Hellehof x Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve) led with an average score of 8.29, followed by Athos MCIA (8.10) and Quornet da Cabana (8.04). A further 17 stallions earned provisional approval. Of the 26 stallions jumping under saddle, three achieved final approval. My Libero BR (Mylord Carthago x Libero H) scored a final average of 8.04, followed by C-Thunder Jmen (Cornet Obolensky x Calisco Jmen) with 8.02, and Lyjatar Jmen (Lyjanero x Casall) with 8.00.
In the competition mare evaluations, Oklahoma TB (Zirocco Blue VDL x Emilion) achieved the highest score of 8.11, followed by Nebraska TB (8.00). Both earned final approval, showcasing the importance of pedigree, morphology, and sporting aptitude for breed development.
The event featured a distinguished judging panel, including renowned French judge Christian Planchon alongside Brazilian judges Victor Chiari Alves, André Sgarbi de Lolo, Guilherme Foroni, and João Aragão. They conducted rigorous evaluations analyzing conformation, lineage, morphology, movement, athletic aptitude, and x-rays.
In the foal exhibition for ages six to 40 months, the title of Exhibition Grand Champion was awarded to Kendo 3K (Comthago x Contendro I), while Komander Blue 3K (Zirocco Blue VDL x Contendro I) was named Reserve Grand Champion, reflecting the high genetic standard of the lineage.
Among the females, the Grand Champion of the Exhibition title went to Kayra 3K (Harley VDL x Zirocco Blue VDL), with Andenne TW (Vigo d’Arsouilles x Elvis Ter Putte) as Reserve Grand Champion.
In the Free Jumping Championship, Kendo 3K (Comthago x Contendro I) won the two-year-old category with a score of 7.80, while in the three-year-old category, the title went to JCR Baloubrady (Baloubet du Rouet x Quidam de Revel) with a score of 7.87, demonstrating promising strength and technique...
