The Brazilian Association of Sport Horse Breeders (ABCCH) is ushering in a new era for national breeding by organizing, for the first time in Brazil, selection trials for the 2025 World Breeding Championship for Young Horses in Lanaken, Belgium.

The project is exclusive to young Brazilian Sport Horses (BHs) registered in the ABCCH studbook, and is being organized under the leadership of the new board, headed by Antonio Celso Fortino. ABCCH is introducing this innovative project aimed not only at selecting the best Brazilian horses but also at establishing Brazil as a global reference in sport horse breeding.
“By holding the selection trials on Brazilian soil, we are offering national breeders a unique opportunity to compete and excel on one of the greatest stages of international breeding,” emphasizes Antonio Celso Fortino. “Our goal is to strengthen national breeding and pave the way for Brazilian horses to gain recognition for their quality and competitiveness on the world stage.”
The project, named ’Grand Slam Mystic Rose – Lanaken 2025’, will include four stages held at some of the largest equestrian centers in the country:
• First stage: Sociedade Hípica Paranaense (SHP) in Curitiba, from April 21 to 27.
• Second stage: Sociedade Hípica Paulista (SHP) in São Paulo, from June 2 to 8.
• Third stage: Haras Agromen (CHAG) in Orlândia, from June 30 to July 6.
• Fourth stage: Haras Cooper in Campinas, from July 29 to August 3.
The trials will include young horses aged five, six, and seven years of age, following regulations aligned with the Brazilian Equestrian Confederation (CBH) and the International Equestrian Federation (FEI). The champions of the selection trials in each category will secure a spot in the Lanaken World Championship, with air freight costs covered by the ABCCH...
