Americans secure top horses at 12th Oldenburger Special Edition

Mirage – a strong-moving dressage pearl by Millennium/T and top price

Oldenburg enthusiasts from the United States claimed the top dressage and showjumping horses making a total of six auction candidates that will make their trans-Atlantic joukrney. Meanwhile, the second-highest-priced horse will soon impress ‘down under’.

The top horse of the 12th Oldenburger Special Edition was Mirage, a standout from the dressage collection. The strong-moving dressage pearl by Millennium/T x Fürst Romancier x Lauries Crusador xx x World Cup I was sold by auctioneer Christoph Rowold for €85,000 to a long-time client and Grand Prix rider from Florida. The eight-year-old mare was bred by Beate and Berthold Schmidt from Herleshausen and exhibited by Valencia Caballo SL, Spain. Her granddam Liebe Laura is a sister to four horses with S-level success, including the Grand Prix winner Adventure (Johannes Rüben) and Gucci (Wolfgang Schmitz-Heinen).
The second-highest price went to the licensed stallion Sir Weihe GS by Sir Donnerhall I x Apache x Don Schufro x Sandro Hit. Bred by Bettina Hinnemann from Vörde and exhibited by Gorodok Agro Llc, Ukraine, this imposing young talent sold for €73,500 to Australia. His dam, Aweih, is a champion mare and a daughter of Weihegold OLD. His brother, Extra Gold H by Escolar, was crowned champion stallion in 2021...
