In Belgium, outdoor competitions for young showjumpers and international showjumping classes for young horses took place from May 10-12, within the Belgian equestrian infrastructure at ‘Sen Tower Park’ in Opglabbeek, with several classes for five-, six-. amd seven-year olds to demonstrate their talents.

It was a small field in the showjumping class for five-year-old classes, which was won by Katharina Offel, realizing a double clear round riding First Focus Z. The mare is by Focus GLN, a son of Clinton (Corrado I), while her dam, Daniek Z, is a granddaughter of the legendary progenitor Capitol I. According to the FEI website this victory of First Focus was her first recorded performance.
Antonio Alfonso and Elite de Riverland (Kannan - Volante de Riverland x Dollar de la Pierre) finished second.  Earlier this year, Alfonso and Elite won several showjumping classes for young horses in Liege.
Andrea Calabro and Osiris van de Heffinck ranked third. Osiris is the result of combining Jamal van de Heffinck and Kandy Hof ter Zeedycke (Cabrio van de Heffinck). In partnership with several riders, Kandy Hof ter Zeedycke, has been performing at international 1m35 and 1m40 level.
On Saturday, May 11, Katharina Offel and First Focus Z were laurelled once again as the winners of the showjumping class for five-year-old horses. Antonio Alfonso and Elite de Riverland were third, behind Thibaut Bollen and Oakley CH. Oakley is by Inshallah de Muze out of Rebecca (Manno).
