It will be a fantastic return to Valkenswaard for the second edition of the WBFSH Jumping Studbooks Global Champions Trophy at the Longines Tops International Arena in Valkenswaard, with more studbooks and participants than ever before.

We have been absolutely delighted to be building upon the fantastic success of last year, where our fabulous AES teams exceeded everybody’s wildest expectations by being the only studbook in the medals in all categories entered.
This year again our chefs d'equipe Lucy Simpson and Robbert Ehrens have viewed horses all over the country to select the very best to represent their studbook and their country. We are very proud to introduce our riders and their lovely horses.

AES five-year-old team

• Tom Dovkants: Bonita 1 (Galerius x Classe VDL), breeder Carron Nicol
• Katie Speller: Billy Mombasa (Billy Mexico x Capital), breeder Donal Barnwell
• Shane Breen: Z7 for T (For Pleasure x Voltaire), breeder Team Z7
• Levi Critchlow: Break Free EM (by Escape Z), breeder Eiddwen Hughes
• Eric van der Vleuten: Bailey’s (O’ Bailey vh Brouwershof x Voltaire), breeder Stal Burg/Boeren
• Hannah Downes: Mr. Pom (Pommerol de Muze x Diarado), breeder DHR. Broers
Katie Speller had a highly successful competition last year, and it is great to have her back on several teams: “I am very excited and honoured to be heading back to Valkenswaard this year to represent the AES studbook where I will be competing with Breen Equestrian’s Billy Mombasa (5yo), BE Alcantara (8yo) as well as Teqm Z7’s Z7 Pink Panther (6yo). Huge Thank you to Lucy Simpson and Rob Ehrens for the selection and the opportunity.”
Tom Dovkants also competed on last year’s bronze medal winning five-year-old team: “I am honoured to be invited for a second year running with the sister of last year’s Bronze medalist five-year-old. This year we are showcasing Bonita on behalf of the AES. Bred in Stratford upon Avon, Warwickshire, by Carron Nicol and her team, and who is now owned by long term British owner Alison Walton.
“Bonnie is a super athletic mare with all the attributes for the top of the sport. She is out of a mare who jumped 1m40 (Class VDL) and by Galerius 1m60 (Diamant x Sandro Boy). We are thrilled she has been noticed and truly believe AES are taking some of the best horses forward this year from their five-year-olds through to the nine years and older stallions. The team spirit will be in full force all week, and from all at Aartom Horses in the UK, we can’t wait.”.. To read the complete article you need to be a subscriber
