AES grading Poland 2023: “The quality is definitely there”…

The eighth edition of AES Grading Poland took place on February 21/22 just outside the city of Lodz, at the Salio Equestrian Resort, attracting a record number of entries. Some 86 showjumping, eventing, and dressage stallions contributed to a very high level show.

On the first day of the grading the judging committee – comprising Eva Maria Broomer (a vice president of the WBFSH), Joris van den Oetelaar, AES director, as well as Lucy Simpson, Bernard Demets, and Marthijs Brouwer – evaluated three-year-olds for showjumping, eventing, and dressage.
The grading began with the presentation of all stallions in hand, followed by free jumping, in the case of eventers and showjumpers, or free movement for dressage horses – all born in 2020. The second day of AES grading was dedicated to stallions born in 2019 and older, in all categories, starting once again with an in-hand presentation and then under saddle...
