Unfortunately, we still do not have a uniform model of calculation between countries or studbooks, so each country’s breeding values cannot be directly compared to that of another country or studbook. However, as a breeder it is always interesting to how certain stallions rank in other studbooks.
Breeding values in Danish Warmblood are calculated on a model that does not include international competitions. Instead, BVs are based on performance scores at saddle gradings, performance tests, young horse championships, and national competitions for specific horses, as well as its closest relatives: Parents, siblings, etc.
Looking at the dressage horses it is interesting to note that the stallion Fassbinder/ex Atterupgaards Fass-binder, is out of the same dam as the mare Atterupgaards Dallara, and their dam Dicte is the full sister to FEI top-10 dressage horse Atterupgaards Cassidy.
