At the recent AGM, the Canadian Warmblood Horse Breeders Association (CWHBA) recognized the outstanding accomplishments of Canadian Warmblood horses and their breeders through its 2025 Year End and Achievement Awards.
These awards highlight excellence in performance across multiple disciplines, showcasing the strength and versatility of Canadian Warmblood breeding programs both nationally and internationally.
Each year, CWHBA sponsors National Performance Awards for horses competing in recognized competitions across Canada, the United States, and abroad. Year End Awards are presented across three performance levels in the disciplines of dressage, hunter, jumper, eventing, and eriving, with standards aligned to Equestrian Canada and leading US and international governing bodies. In addition, studbook-entered mares and stallions may accumulate points toward Achievement Awards.
The 2025 awards season reflects another year of exceptional results. A total of 16 Achievement Awards were presented across dressage, hunter, and jumper disciplines, underscoring the consistency and competitiveness of Canadian Warmblood horses. These honours reflect not only the performance of individual horses, but also the dedication and vision of breeders across the country.
In dressage, top Year End honours were awarded to Graffiti III (Glamorous) by Goyan de Lahaie x Feiner Stern bred by Caude Lahaie of Quebec at Level 1, and Dr. Johnny Walker (Derroche del Juncal x Rabino) bred by Dave and Roxy Bell of Alberta at Level 2. The hunter division saw strong competition, with RiverCross Rhapsody (RiverCross Extra x Flemmingh) bred by RiverCross Farm of Quebec earning Level 1 honours, while Leviathan GET (Landhoenig x Contango) bred by Dannette L Ball of BC claimed top spot at Level 2...
