Zangersheide 2024 Foal Championship: the Netherlands

This time, the place to be for the Zangersheide Foal Championship in the Netherlands was Hippisch Centrum de Ankerhal in Saasveld, where over 40 foals appeared, many of them carrying the blood of our own Zangersheide stallions.

Like in Germany, Heinz Meyer was the on-duty jury member, this time assisted by Tom Lemmens. They cast their eyes over the presented foals and assessed them according to the familiar criteria of correctness, movement, type, overall impression and dam line.

First up; the fillies

The foal that managed to make the strongest impression on our jury was Chanegie LN Z, with the letters LN referring to breeder Louise Nyberg of LN Horses. Chanegie LN Z is a Chacco-Blue daughter and is directly out of the Cardento VDL mare Carnegie, who herself jumped 1m45 with American rider Shawn Casady.
Second place in the series for fillies was awarded to the foal Daisy Lou Lucardie Z, who was bred by Emily Sanders. Daisy Lou Lucardie Z is a Darry Lou daughter in combination with Diarado and is out of a half sister of Grand Prix horses Very Nice (Casantos) and Cocu (Wender R).
Foal Baloubina SES Z secured third place in this fillies series. Baloubina SES Z was bred by Sidney Eras and M. Eras Van Wien and is a Balou du Reventon daughter out of the Quidam de Revel mare Q Royal Palm Z, who jumped at 1m50 level with Eiken Sato (JPN) in the saddle...
