The 2024 Danish Warmblood stallion selection in Herning will take place from March 6-10, and represents the last in a series of stallion licensings that take place among the world’s most significant breeding federations.
The Danish Warmblood Stallion Show opens on Wednesday, 6 March, 2024, in the MCH Exhibition Center Herning. The event includes the stallion selection of three-and four-year-olds, as well as older stallions, alongside international five-star dressage and three-star showjumping, a young-horse championship final for five-year-olds, plus two spectacular gala shows on Friday and Saturday evenings. Not forgetting a horse fair that welcomes more than 250 vendors.
As always, this year’s collection from the Danish breeders is eagerly awaited, with foreign stallions expected to supplement the Danish-bred young stallions.
High quality at this year’s pre-selection
The Danish Warmblood licensing committee in dressage and showjumping has judged a total of 83 young stallions at pre-selections during the Riders Cup (Seeland) and Vilhelmsborg (Jutland). This is a slight increase compared to last year.
The licensing committee for showjumping – Johnny Hansen, Signe Wiese, Bo K. Møller, and Allan Blomgreen – inspected a total of 26 showjumping stallions from which 17 were selected for licensing in Herning. Meanwhile, the licensing committee for dressage – Vicky Nortvig, Jens Søgård, Karsten Petersen, and Rune Willum – selected a total of 29 dressage stallions from the 57 presented...
