During the first week in November, the 10 best youngsters of the 2021 crop were awarded premiums during the Verden licensing of dressage stallions. A total of 30 out of 54 stallions presented were licensed and, later, seven found new owners during the stallion sale.
A Bon Courage x Rotspon son (breeder: Hans-Ludwig Dittmer, Rhadereistadt, exhibitor: ZG Dittmer, Rhadereistadt) presented himself at the highest level on all three licensing days. According to Heike Kemmer’s comment on the liver-chestnut, who will now be trained at the Schulten-Baumer dressage stable, “We’ll be seeing him again in sport.”
A black stallion by Dancier Gold x Vivaldi (breeder: Michael and Claudia Roehrhoff, Mönchengladbach, exhibitor: Gestüt Sprehe GmbH, Löningen), in whose veins flows the blood of Isabell Werth’s Olympic mare Weihegold, was sold for €150,000. After the liberalization of the stallion licensing, this stallion will go down in Hannoveraner history as the first Oldenburg to be licensed in the Niedersachsenhalle and awarded a premium.
A regular customer from Schleswig-Holstein won the bidding duel at €135,000 for an extremely strong-moving Le Formidable x Florencio son (breeder: Catharina Harten Denker, Beesten, exhibitor: Katharina Ehrengut, Bad Oldesloe). Meanwhile, a stallion owner from Emsland secured a Secret x Lord Loxley son (breeder and exhibitor: Johann von der Decken, Krummendeich) for €110,000. “Riding horses are made from these ingredients,” said breeding director Ulrich Hahne, describing the large-framed bay.
An eye-catching chestnut by Benicio x Valentino (breeder: Dr Michael Lühs, Wagenfeld, exhibitor: Gestüt Allerhop, Hambüren), an extremely likeable premium stallion who opened the licensing, will henceforth move into a stable in France... To read the complete article you need to be a subscriber
