After the successful Online Young Horse Auction in April, Zangersheide hosted its first online foal auction of the season yesterday evening, featuring a strong collection consisting of 18 top foals from the best dam lines.
The price topper of the evening was the black colt E-Funky Eyckeveld Z, a son of Emerald van't Ruytershof and For Pleasure who was bred by David Pues and who comes out of the full sister of Marcus Ehning's GP horse Funky Fred. E-Funky Eyckeveld Z generated a great deal of interest due to his beautiful looks and was eventually sold for €32,000 to the parents of Italian teenage showjumper Francesca Ripamonti.
Another striking name during this first online foal auction was that of filly Uzuri 1991 Z, a daughter of Utamaro d'Ecaussines Z and Vigo d'Arsouilles who was bred by Sebastien Neyt and who is a great-granddaughter of the GP mare Banda de Hus (Argentinus). She made many hearts beat faster with her interesting pedigree and at the end of the auction it was Iraqi investor Abuzayed who became the new owner for €23,000.
Also very popular, the appaloosa colt Jaguar Star by Classic Z from breeder Toni Cassandra. Jaguar Star combines the blood of J-Nius V.V. Z with that of Comilfo Plus Z and was sold to Turkey for €17,500.
Zangersheide thanks all the buyers for their trust and wishes them every success in the future with their new acquisitions.
Zangersheide is now preparing for its next online auction, which will run from Saturday, August 5 to Tuesday, August 8, and for the second edition of the Stud 2000 online auction, from Saturday, August 19 to Tuesday, August 22.
