The 10-year-old Selle Français Drako de Maugré (Kannan - Atlanta de Maugré x Fusain du Defey AA) is a rising showjumping star. Purchased in June 2022 by Paul Schockemöhle, he had already won the four-star Grand Prix Hof Waterkant just a few weeks later under the saddle of Patrick Stühlmeyer.

Drako de Maugré began his international career under the saddle of Alexandra Francart, who also started his dam Atlanta de Maugré in sport. Following his Grand Prix win with Patrick Stühlmeyer at Hof Waterkant in Pinneberg – their third show together – they won the Sires of the World class at Zangersheide, and this year added the three-star Grand Prix at Horses & Dreams in Hagen to their account.
Located in the Champagne-Ardennes region of northern France, east of the historic city of Reims, Drako de Maugré was bred by Nicolas Normand at Elevage de Maugré, who shares his story in breeding.

I was convinced that this mare was special and I asked my father to sell her to me. My father stopped breeding horses six years ago as he wasn’t happy with them and no longer showed any interest...
