Clube Hípico de Santo Amaro (CHSA), in São Paulo, Brazil, has hosted its first national and international dressage competition of the year – the event marking the club’s return to international standards since 2015.
It also marked the beginning of qualifiers on Brazilian soil to select the national dressage team that will travel to the 2023 Pan-American Games that will take place in Santiago, Chile, from October 20 to November 5. “CHSA is one of the most important equestrian clubs in Brazil and we are honored to host a competition of this level. We have all the structure necessary in the dressage complex for such large events,” stated Carolina Chemin, dressage director for both CJSA and ABCCH.

Brazilian Sport Horses have been standing out internationally for their excellent rideability, gaits, and submission. For instance, highlight of the CDI-1* Small Tour was Ricardo Silva and Rose Noir GG (Rosario x Gribaldi). The mare was born in November 2013 at Coudelaria Braga and finished second in the Prix St. Georges with 64.902%, just behind Vinicius Miranda da Costa and Jane Esther II SVN, with a final average of 65.392%.
Isabela Renault Oliveira Travassos was third riding the 11-year-old Niger Itapuã (Cartoon Jmen x Furioso III), bred by Haras Itapuã, with 63.774%. Brazilian national breeding also claimed fifth place with the eight-year-old Milord MM (Toy Boy x Briar), a product of Haras Cachoeira, in the hands of Sergio Castany De Fiori, with 62.892%.
