Holsteiner licensing crowns champion stallion Diamantado

The 52nd Holsteiner licensing in Neumünster saw 23 licensed stallions, five premiums, and one winner who was enthusiastically celebrated by the Holstenhallen audience, with Diamantado (Diamant de Semilly x Cayado), being awarded the coveted champion’s sash.

“This is what winners look like. [See this month’s cover photo]. Diamantado is a stallion with a perfect body, a fine face and a lot of stallion expression. An all-round successful breeding product,” summarized breeding manager Stephan Haarhoff during the proclamation. The grey Diamantado was bred by Eggert and Schramm in Leezen in the Segeberg licensing district, and represented Stamm 776. He was exhibited by Wolfgang Zipperle from Ludwigsburg and was knocked down for €260,000 during the subsequent licensing auction.
The first reserve winner comes from the stable of the Holsteiner Verband Hengsthaltungs GmbH. Union City (United Way x Connor) received appreciative praise from Stephan Haarhoff for his three above-average basic gaits. He also certified that the tall three-year-old had unlimited wealth and very good prospects. He was bred by Alf Bartholomäus from Klein Offenseth and represents Stamm 18A2. The second reserve winner came from the Völz family of Bienenbüttel. He is a son of Cornet’s Quaprice x Quick Star from Stamm 730B.
