The verdicts for the selection of young males of the 2022 vintage have been announced. In Saint-Lô, last December, the entries from Les Forêts and Riverland breeding farms fought a good match in their quest for the podium places.

Based on the level of satisfaction generated by the 2021 edition, in 2022 the Selle Français Stud-Book once again programmed the approval of three-year-old males, to conclude the testing, as well as the two-year-old championship – on December 14-15.
The gathering at the Pôle Equestrian de Saint-Lô was also an event not to be missed to discover young Selle Français sires, but not exclusively. Despite the winter offensive which bleached the roads in mid December, the breeders responded by taking advantage of the perfect reception conditions of the Normandy facilities. For many, it was an opportunity to see future stallions, but also to gather information on the production of those that have recently entered the marketplace.
Overall, while the ‘K’ generation gave prominence to foreign sires, the ‘J’ allowed us to see the first offspring of young Selle Français stallions such as Eothymm de Kergane SF (Quinoto Bois Margot SF), sire of Jarpeggio de Kergane SF, labeled ‘Hopeful’ – and a pure product of the breeding of Louis Menier – who also gave birth to the dam of the young bay, Pavinia de Kergane SF (Elan de la Cour SF).
Douglas du Gué SF (Air Jordan) is the sire of the ‘very promising’ J'Or Dan du Pomiez SF, bred by Marie-Agnès Dechambenoit, while Deuxcatsix d'Eglefin SF (Vigo Cécé SF), is the sire of James Mouche SF, born at the Mouche stud.
On the other hand, the great sire Diamant de Semilly SF (Le Tot de Semilly SF) had only one son on the event: Jakarta d'Aiguilly SF, labeled ‘hopeful’. The young bay was bred by the Perreau family (42) and has for his dam Utah d'Aiguilly SF (Kashmir van’t Schuttershof), ISO 165, a performer also bred by the same family enterprise.
Diamant de Semilly SF was nevertheless well represented by his offspring through his stallion sons (Andiamo Semilly SF, Diarado, and Emerald van’t Ruytershof), and as a damsire with a total of eight offspring. The choice of a good maternal line is always an asset: Among the three-year-olds, eight candidates presented maternal lines rated 10/10 according to the expertise of the Stud-Book Selle Français.
