Steggerda in the Netherlands made news on the opening day of the Spruce Meadows Masters' in Calgary, as the birthplace of Kent Farrington's speedy Creedance (2007/KWPN/g Lord Z [Holst] - Camantha x Notaris) who claied victory in the $40,000 ATCO Cup. It was a class interrupted in the first round by the announcement of the passing of HRH Queen Elizabeth II when jumping was suspended in order to observe a traditional two-minute silence.

From a starting list of 61, 14 horses were scheduled to return for the jump-off, although there were a number of withdrawals, primarily from among the European contingent whose horses only flew into Calgary on Monday.

However, given that Farrington was the first to go in the jump-off and scorched the track of Leopoldo Palacios to set an unbeatable time, it was left to the remainder of the field to contest the other podium places. In the final reckoning, Sanne Thijssen jumped into second place less than half-a-second adrift with Con Quidam RB (Quinar Z x Cardino 5) – a paternal grandson of the legendary Quidam de Revel who will be featured as a special stallion profile in next edition: October 2022. Con Quidam RB was bred in Germany by Bröcking ZG.

In third place, Ebolensky (2009: Clinton x Heartbreaker), a 13-year-old KWPN mare ridden by Britain's Matthew Sampson and bred by Frank and Patrice Koster.
