The second edition of the the Z-Festival foal championship in Poland was organized in early July, hosted by the Kruszynscy Horse Stud in the western part of the country. The quality of the presented foals was very high, proving that foals bred in Poland have the potential to turn into world-class competition horses.
The judges invited to the second edition of the Z-Festival in Poland were Floris van Leuken; a breeder of internationally renowned stallions and member of several auction committees. Van Leuken is also a Zangersheide breeding advisor. The second judge, who also evaluated Polish foals last year, was Louis de Cleene, a breeder and a well-known horse auctioneer.
In the fillies category, victory went to Kassama O2 Z (Kassander van’t Roosakker Z), bred by Tomasz Olszewski out of the mare Panama du Seigneur. Kassama O2 Z is thus a sister of Ben Maher’s Tic Tac and of Boyfriend du Seigneur. She was closely followed by the stunningly beautiful Cassidy Plus Z (Comilfo Plus Z), bred by Iwona Kruszynscy, ahead of Oh Valentina MZ Z (Omano BC x Cornet Obolensky) bred by Michal Zdebel.
In praise of Kassama O2 Z, Louis de Cleene said; “She is a mare of great sport type, exactly what we love to see in a modern foal and also a great mover. She is a daughter of one of the world’s best broodmares, and the only thing we would like to see more of is her foundation, which could be a bit stronger.” He continued by commenting on Cassidy Plus Z; Cassidy Plus Z, saying; “She is a filly advanced in blood and in our opinion she has the X-factor as she stands out with her correct conformation, strength, great movement, and expression. She is also full of energy. The filly may be lacking a typically commercial pedigree which the winning filly possesses, but she’s worth keeping an eye on for the future.”
In conclusion, Louis de Cleene commented on Oh Valentina MZ Z; “A filly by Omano BC, Oh Valentina MZ Z possesses great gaits, she is of a superb type and very correctly built, as well as expressive.”.. To read the complete article you need to be a subscriber
