As breeding events are being permitted under strict hygiene requirements with a limited number of spectators, it means the Holstenhalle will welcome and celebrate the Holstein horse from October 29-31.

A total of 69 prospective stallions have been carefully prepared for the event, with their breeders and owners eagerly awaiting an outcome that will have a significant on their future careers. Star sires such as Casall and Cornet Obolensky will shape the 2020 presentation, alongside Diamant de Semilly, also well represented by sons and grandsons that ensures bloodline diversity through Diarado, Dominator Z and Dinken. There will also be descendants of Colman and his son Catch, as well as younger stallions like Quiwi Capitol and Carbol and 'classic' Holsteiners like Cascadello I, Livello or Clarimo. And then there are the sons of international sires and so-called 'outcross stallions' such as Quabri de L'isle SF, I'm Special de Muze BWP, Flipper d'Elle SF and Emerald van het Ruytershof, all of them providing interesting alternatives. According to breeding manager Dr. Thomas Nissen, "The genetics are distributed relatively well in this vintage."

Thursday, October 29 will see the dressage prospects enter the arena, while Friday is dedicated to free jumping ahead of the licensing awards on Saturday and learning the name of the 2020 champion stallion.

The stallions scheduled to be sold will go under the hammer on October 31, following the riding horse auction. "It has been established this year to host auctions in a hybrid format," said auction manager Roland Metz, so Holsteiners can be purchased conveniently by telephone or online.

Past names such as Quiwitino (Quiwi Dream x Caretino) is now successfully competing with showjumper Felix Hassmann, while Fischer Wild Wave (Water Dance xx x Acobat II), changed hands as a non-licensed stallion and is now showing his versatility with eventing's Michael Jung.

Meanwhile, the catalogue of 33 riding horses includes three-year-old youngsters to proven athletes.

The stallion lot is now available online at https://holsteiner.auction/de/home with pedigrees, relationships, photo and video material, or by telephoning Roland Metz (+49 171 436 4651) who will be happy to offer advice.
