A remarkable 70 years of auctions in Verden were celebrated with a glamorous celebration. In the Niedersachsenhalle, which was sold out for two days in a row, and where L'Avion was highlighted as the price peak. Third in the Bundeschampionat for young horses, L’Avion will now make his new home in Spain for €140,000.
This splendid collection of 89 top-class talents – the largest collection for an Elite Auction of the past decade – sold for an average price of €32,561.
L'Avion (Livaldon x Longchamp, bred by Katharina Oltmann-Heemke, Kreepen, exhibited by Steffen Brunckhorst, Parnewinkel) was awarded the bronze medal at the Bundeschampionat for three-year-old mares and geldings, and danced through the auction arena with hammer coming down at €140,000. This extraordinarily well moving and expressive dark bay was the price peak of this 136th Elite Auction, and will be trained at the Andalusian stud, which had already purchased the top-priced horse of the Verden auction in July.
“Here comes a skyrocket”, said auctioneer Frederik de Backer when the son of Diacontinus x Stolzenberg DJ (bred and exhibited by Manfred Kischio, Sehnde) came into the arena, and a great future has been forecast for this promising four-year-old. He sold for €97,000 which made the grey the top-priced horse with a jumping pedigree.
