Southwind Roulette (Ramirez - Kev’s Girl xx x Sir Bart xx)

Several competition mares have recently been upgraded to Principal status in the NZ Warmblood Association Studbook; four of these were bred in New Zealand, one in the Netherlands and one in Australia. Many are out of quality Thoroughbred broodmares.
Southwind Roulette (Ramirez - Kev’s Girl xx x Sir Bart xx) is owned by her breeder Janelle Sangster-Ward of SWE Equestrian, who describes her as a ‘horse of a lifetime’. This beautiful, elegant mare went from Level 1 to PSG dressage in just three years, and also had wins in young-horse-show jumping classes. Injury put an end to her competition career, but she now has some very promising progeny, including the colt SWE NeuerStern (Negro), and SWE Santorini (Solitär Hit), a gelding who has been sold to an eventing rider in Australia. Roulette’s sire, the magnificent Holsteiner Ramirez (Ramiro Z), was imported from the Netherlands and became one of the most successful stallions to stand in New Zealand. He was the foundation stallion of Astek Stud, and died in 2015.

Waldfee (Worldwide PB - Cordura Ryegrass xx x Depot xx) is owned by her breeder, Michele Nelley of Kismaayu Horses. Waldfee’s sire, the truly wonderful Worldwide PB, was bred in Germany and imported to New Zealand in 1996. He stood at Bernie Maubach’s Vollrath Stud and competed successfully here to PSG level, siring many excellent offspring, a number of which were retained by Vollrath as breeding mares...
