Brazilian showjumping once again claimed a spotlight, winning a class in Barcelona and the national team finishing fifth in the Longines-FEI Nations Cup Final™ at the Spanish venue. Once again, stand-out performances for the green and yellow flag on an international stage.

The Brazilian partnership of Stephan de Freitas Barcha and the Brazilian showjumping horse (BH), Chevaux Hex Lup Império Egípcio (X-Rated Gms x Clinton Jmen), were victorious in the 1m45 La Vanguardia Trophy, during the final of the Longines League of Nations™ in Barcelona. The five-star speed class saw a faultless performance in a time of 61.18 seconds, which consolidated the quality of national breeding (BH) and reaffirmed Brazil’s presence among the world’s best. Nutreal Hex-Lup, registered with the Brazilian Association of Show Jumping Horse Breeders (ABCCH), is a 15-year-old example of the BH breed that has shown great progress in recent years.
In addition to this important victory, Brazil also made a notable appearance in the Grand Prix, once again thanks to Stephan de Freitas Barcha. This time he was riding Chevaux Primavera Imperio Egípcio (Primavera Montana), a 13-year-old BH mare (Calvaro FC x Paroli), bred by Haras Montana, who gave a solid performance. Stephan completed the course with zero penalties over two rounds, the second in a time of 54.16 seconds which secured fifth place.
The Grand Prix winners were the Irish duo: Michael Pender and HHS Calais, who posted an impeccable performance, incurring no penalties, and crossing the jump-off finish line in 50.88 seconds for the top prize of €99,000... To read the complete article you need to be a subscriber
