Riding the brilliant 10-year-old stallion Glock's Zonik NOP (Blue Hors Zack - Romaik x Glock's Romanov), Edward Gal has claimed a ninth Dutch dressage championship title. In the first Grand Prix test, Zonik competed with faultlessly impressive elegance, given that it took place during a torrential downpour (79.475%), much to Gal's delight. Their Freestyle the following day scored 83.435%, despite Zonik appearing a little distracted at times. Zonik is currently approved for KWPN, Westfalian, Mecklenburg, Danish Warmblood, Oldenburg and Rhineland studbooks, and his talent is hardly surprising when you look at all four paternal great-grandparents, reading down the line: Ferro (Sydney 2000 Olympic Games – team silver; three-year-old champion of KWPN performance test, 2000 World Cup Final runner-up); Jazz (WBFSH leading dressage sire in the world rankings 2008, 2009 and 2010); Rohdiamant (sire of the legendary Rubinstein, licensing winner, more than 50 licensed sons); Blue Hors Don Schufro (Beijing 2008 OG – team bronze; 2008 Danish champion; sire of 2017 World Cup winner and European champion, Weihegold).
Breeders: Ferro – H.J. Gerrits, the Netherlands; Jazz – H. van Helvoirt, the Netherlands; Rohdiamant – Hans Francksen, Germany; Don Schufro – Herbert Meier, German
