One of the highlights of the Hanoverian year begins in Verden on October 25 with the annual stallion licensing. This year, 111 stallions born in 2015 will be presented following their preselection, with the ever-popular auction of licensed and non-licensed stallions scheduled for Saturday, October 28. It has been reported that the 2015 generation of stallions are especially impressive, and according to Hanoverian breeding and business manager, Dr. Werner Schade: “We have compiled a collection with a broad range of hereditary backgrounds and a high level when it comes to dressage and showjumping. A top collection for breeding and sport.” This year the schedule has been changed to accommodate dressage stallions starting one day earlier and completing their free jumping the same day. Thursday sees stallions presented on the triangle, followed by lungeing in the afternoon. The licensing results and Premium awards for stallions will be announced following Friday afternoon’s showjumping. All the Premium stallions will be presented at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning, together with successful stallions and mares from previous years, preceding the much-anticipated announcement of the Hanoverian stallion- and mare-of-the-year awards and followed by the auction.
