Val Thorens van de Padenborre

Val Thorens

The BWP stallion Val Thorens van de Padenborre (Grandeur - Himalaya van de Padenborre x Fleuri du Manoir) has been acquired by Steffen Cobbaert in partnership with Diederich Brusselmans and will now stand at Rijbaan d’Hoeve on the outskirts of Brussels. This follows a successful showjumping career under the saddles of French international Michel Robert, and his owner, Marta Ortega. Bred by André Leemans, the 18-year-old stallion – a uterine brother of Ohio van de Padenborre – has been available in Belgium for several years, but is now officially retired from competition and will formally begin his career as a sire. According to his new owner, "Val Thorens is still in superb physical condition and is in perfect health. He has a fantastic character, being soft and easy. When the chance to buy a stallion of such quality is presented, we said that it was an opportunity we couldn't pass up, because although he was not often available for breeding during his sporting career, his low production is proving to be very beautiful”.
