The owners of Iron Spring Farm have announced that their KWPN-approved Olivi son UB 40 (out of Kilucienne keur sport-dres by Michelangelo, breeder Ad van Os) had to be euthanized. Only recently at the KWPN stallion licensing the chestnut stallion was proclaimed Keur. The press release from Iron Spring informs that UB 40 had an undiagnosed illness that suddenly turned worse, so they made the humane decision to spare him from further suffering. After UB 40 was sold in 2005 to Iron Spring Farm he became the winning six-year-old of KWPN-NA and was successully shown at intermediate level dressage. UB40's most successful offspring is the international Grand Prix stallion Apache (UB40 x Krack C) shown by Emmelie Scholtens, who recently shone at the Indoor Brabant Horse Show, finishing fifth (80.315%) in the World Cup dressage qualifier. Another approved son is El Capone (UB 40 - Vamora elite pref prok x OO Seven x Saluut).

UB40 would have turned only 17 on April 10, 2018.
