Peter Charles (IRE) riding La Ina to European Championship victory in 1995

It's not only worth watching horse bloodlines, but the origins of showjumpers and dealers, too. Twenty three years after his dad, Peter Charles won the European championship title in St. Gallen (SUI) riding La Ina, his son, Harry (19), has just won the European young riders' title in Fontainebleau (FRA). The story would be perfect if their respective horses were also related, but sadly La Ina's ancestry was unrecorded at a time when breeding information was less fascinating than it is today. However, there is one interesting connection: Both La Ina, and Harry's 13-year-old Belgian Sport Horse Vivaldi du Dom (Casall - Eurasie de Beaume x Veneur du Prelet), bred by Dominique Masson, came from Ecurie François Mathy in Belgium.
