Two stallions on the podium winning silver and bronze following the final individual round of the European Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden, Sunday, August 27. Congratulations to home favourite Peder Fredricson (SWE) who rode the 11yo Belgian Sport Horse gelding H&M All In (Kashmir van Schuttershof – Fortune x Andiamo) to victory, having maintained his lead since day one, last Wednesday. Congratulations also to All In’s Belgian breeder, Bas Huybregts. The two stallions, Don VHP Z (Diamant de Semilly - Sara van het Parelshof x Voltaire) and Good Luck (Canturo [Holst] - Famosa Z [Hann] x Furioso II [SF]) – both exceptionally well-bred by Guy de Schuymer and Dirk Geerinckx, respectively – represented Zangersheide and the Belgian Warmblood studbooks and were ridden by Harrie Smolders (BEL) and Cian O’Connor (IRL). Rounding out the top six were Italy’s Alberto Zorzi/Cornetto K (4th), Pieter Devos/Espoir (BEL, 5th) and Marcus Ehning/Pret A Tout (GER, 6th). These three are all geldings, respectively, Hanoverian, Selle Français and Zangersheide. Remarkably, 12 studbooks were represented by the top 20 horses: BWP leading the pack with four, ahead of Zangersheide (3); Hanoverian, Holsteiner, Westfalian and Selle Français (2); one apiece for Belgian Sport Horse, Anglo European, KWPN, Swedish Warmblood and Oldenburg.
