Stallion Codex One wins in Basle

Christian Ahlmann ended his 2015 season with a Grand Prix victory, and has kicked-off 2016 in similar style, winning the five-star CSI in Basle (SUI) with Codex One (Contendro I - Gipsy x Glückspilz). Born in 2002, the licensed Hanoverian stallion was bred by Wilhelm Berghorn. It was a great day for stallions, with the Belgian Sport Horse Vagabond de la Pomme (Vigo d'Arsouilles - Sauterelle de la Pomme x For Pleasure) carrying Pénélope Leprévost (FRA) into second place. The 11-year-old Vagabond was bred by Geert Baertsoen. The influence of Olympian Hanoverian sire For Pleasure (Furioso II - Gigantin x Grannus) was noteworthy as both the dam's sire of Vagabond, and the sire of third-placed mare Fit For Fun (For Pleasure - Fetzi x Fabriano), ridden by Luciana Diniz (POR). A third stallion finished in the top four: Papillon Z (Perhaps - Cleopatra x Cassini I), bred by Helga Guisson and ridden by Jérôme Guery (FRA).
