Belgium’s Jérôme Guery will long remember his inaugural five-star Chantilly CSI, as it was his first Grand Prix win with the very promising and handsome stallion Alicante (2005: Casall - Texas M x Indoctro). The brilliant grey began his career with Belgium’s Chloe Vranken before competing under the saddle of Abden Saïd (EGY) during 2015. According to Guery, “Indeed, it has only been six months that I ride him and every show he gets better. In Hamburg we had two poles down in the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix, then only four faults in Madrid last week, and I felt he was improving. Here, where he doesn’t get any pole down, I felt that he was ready to give me some more. […] I think it’s good for the future, we will have a lot more placings together.” Photo: RBpresse
