Arriving: Wilken Treu, the former breeding and managing director of the Westfalian Stud Book in Münster will be moving to the Hannoveraner Verband to take up the position of managing director which has been vacant since May, beginning on December 1, 2019.

Wilken Treu was born in Verden region, studied agribusiness at the University in Göttingen and completed his master's degree with a thesis at the Hannoveraner Verband. He then worked as a manager at Paul Schockemöhle's Gestüt Lewitz before becoming business administration manager of the Saxony-Anhalt State Stud in Prussendorf. For seven years, the 37-year-old has been managing and breeding director of the Westfalian Stud Book. "Due to its tradition and importance, I see my task at the Hannoveraner Verband as a special challenge. In addition I am pleased to return to my Lower Saxony homeland with my wife and my two children." Hanoverian chairman Hans-Henning von der Decken is happy with this decision. "I am very glad that we were able to win a young and yet experienced man for this important position with Wilken Treu. I would like to thank the Westfälischer Pferdestammbuch for their unproblematic handling of this matter."

Departing: Jörg-Wilhelm Wegener, auction manager at the Hannoveraner Verband e.V. since 2011, announced last week that he would be terminating his position as head of the training and sales centre in Verden at the end of the year. "I have received an interesting offer and, after careful consideration, have accepted it," he said. For the upcoming sales events of the Hannoveraner Verband in autumn, which is traditionally the season with the highest turnover, he assured the board that he would be available. In conclusion, Wegener added: "I would like to thank the Hannoveraner Verband for the wonderful time and especially for the confidence that the board and the breeders placed in me." He wishes the breeders and exhibitors all the best for the future and will remain positively connected to the Verband even after he has resigned. Not at least as a Hanoverian breeder, he will continue to follow events.

Jörg-Wilhelm Wegener arrived in Verden as an auction assistant from the Oldenburg Verband in 2006 and held the position of deputy auction manager from 2007 to 2011. Altogether he is the fourth auction manager in the seventy-year history of the Verden auctions.
