Out of 18 SCSL (Stud-book du Chevel de Selle Luxemborgeois) candidate stallions registered, 11 were accepted following veterinary examination to participate in the expertise which took place in Leudelange on Saturday, January 30. The jury, which included François Mathy, Gilbert Böckmann, Eric Lanners and André Nepper, finally approved five stallions, three initially receiving a one-year approval, and two definitively.
Among the first group, the sBs (Belgian Sport Horse) stallion No-Comment de Septon (Jenson van’t Meulenhof – Gina Rubin de Septon x Couleur Rubin), bred by Yvonne and Christian Liegeois of Elevage de Septon. No-Comment’s granddam is a uterine sister of Vice-Versa de Septon (Concorde – Esprit x Nimmerdor), jumping internationally under the saddle of Filippo Lupis (ITA). Also approved for one year, Belgian Warmblood (BWP), Mister d’Eclipse (Diamant de Semilly – S-Caretina x Caretino), a son of the 2002 world championship team gold medallist Diamant de Semilly. His dam is also a full sister to the Holsteiner stallion Caretello B. These three stallions must be presented again in 2017 in order to be fully licensed. Completing the trio, Coup de Coeur de Chambourg (Conway II – Geli x Landcapitol). Conway II is an approved Holsteiner stallion by Caretino x Lord, bred by Otto-Boje Schoof.
Definitively approved were the Oldenburg-bred Jack Jones (Johnson – Schila x De Niro), a dressage blue blood (grandson of Jazz, great-grandson of Olympic Cocktail) already approved by his birth studbook, as well as the six-year-old Luxembourg-bred stallion Label d’Amour (Landadel – Sagesse d’Amour x Stakkato), one of the last crop of Landadel foals, out of a full sister to approved stallions Saint Amour I, Saint Amour II and Spartakhus (all bred by Adolf Feldmann).
