Saying good bye to Corland


The Holsteiner bred Corland (Cor de la Bryere - Thyra x Landgraf I, Stamm 104A, bred by Prof. Dr. Schmidt) has died at the respectable age of 28 at his home, VDL Stud. He was a very important spor thorse for Wout Jan van der Schans. At the European Championships of Arnhem in 2001 they proved to belong to the top of the world. They won both qualifying rounds with the best Nations' Cup result, and finished ninth overall. The pair also had top placings in a number of Grand Prix classes. As a breeding stallion he has produced many 1m60 jumpers – the best known being Silvana, Apardi, VDL Torlando and California.
