Dirk Demeersman posted on his Facebook page that the KWPN-bred stallion Orlando van de Heffinck (Heartbreaker - Nefista vd Ruitershoeve x Darco, bred by Daniel D'Haese) has passed away. His loss has come almost a year to the day that the breeding world lost the Holsteiner-bred Clinton (Corrado I - Urte x Masetto, bred by Rudolf Wieck). Both of these stallions enjoyed excellent careers under the saddle of Belgian international showjumper Demeersman, who had ridden Orlando from the age of four until he was nine years old. Noteworthy results were finishing fifth in the CSIO5* La Baule Grand Prix, and winning the Nörten-Hardenberg championship. Orlando van de Heffinck sired the Swedish Warmblood mare Ohlala (out of Carrera x Cardento, bred by Leif Nilsson) who won team and individual bronze medals with Lauren Hough (USA) at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto.
