Two newcomers, Asgard’s Ibiza (Desperado - Bolympia W x Jazz) and Ogano (Ogano Sitte - Jamaica van de Beemden x Diarado), shone brilliantly as the celebrated Oldenburg main premium winners. When deciding which stallion is to receive a main premium, not only the stallion’s achievements in sport but also the result of his performance test and, even more important, the quality of his first foal crop, are deciding factors.
Springpferdezuchtverband Oldenburg International awarded the main premium to Ogano, bred in 2012 by Willy Hendrix from Belgium, and owned by Gerd Sosath from Lemwerder, Germany. As a son of internationally successful Ogano Sitte, Ogano completed his 30-day test in Schlieckau with a final jumping score of 8.15. In his sport test this year he got a final score of 9.2.
The main premium in the dressage sector went to the 2013-born Asgard’s Ibiza, bred by L. Boogert from the Netherlands, and owned by Hengsthaltung Ludwig Kathmann from Holtrup, Germany. Asgard’s Ibiza was licensed in 2015 in Vechta and has already sent offspring to the Oldenburg Elite Foal Auctions. The strong-moving stallion finished his 14-day test in Adelheidsdorf with a final dressage score of 8.81.
