On January 5 the Holsteiner Verband held their traditional January approvals when 15 stallions travelled to Elmshorn. Dr. Thomas Nissen, breeding director of the Holsteiner Verband said: “We could add some interesting lines for our breed thanks to a successful mix from proven Holsteiner bloodlines and valuable impulses with three new, experimental breeding stallions.”

There was a large audience who saw two champions from other German studbooks: the OS champion Zinedream (Zinedine - Panam Air x Contender, Stamm 8888, bred by Gerd Küst) and the champion of the Westphalian approvals Karajan (Kannan - Vilja x Q-Verdi, bred by Werner Schultze). Zinedream was approved and Karajan was accepted as a breeding experiment.

Already purchased by the Holsteiner Verband, Del’Arko d’Henvet (Tsunami de Hus - Mouette de Cresnay x Quartz de Frely, bred by Veronique Debaque and Henri Carouge) was accepted for a breeding experiment. He was discovered at the Selle Français approvals in Saint Lô in October last year.

More French blood was also approved with the BWP-bred stallion Q-Oxford Quality (Quick Star [SF] - U-Charme x Casall, Stamm 5064, bred by Quality Stud), as well as Catover (Catoki - Verlin BP x Contact Me, Stamm 4705, bred by Kai Gerken). The eight-year-old Catover will continue his jumping education under the saddle of Philipp Weishaupt (GER).
