The Baden-Württemberg dressage stallion Lord Leopold (Lord Sinclair I - Fatima x Sandro Hit) left his home at Gestüt Birkhof last weekend, having been sold to Olympic dressage rider Victoria Max Theurer (AUT) who will continue to prepare him for the international stage. During the 2015 season he became a multiple Bundeschampionat finalist with his previous rider, Nicole Casper, who competed with him up to ’S’ level (Kurz Grand Prix). Many of Lord Leopold's descendants have enjoyed great success, including the champion and reserve champion at the ‘Landestutenshau’ (mare show) in Baden-Württemberg, as well as champions in two-year-old classes. Bred by Martin and Simone Meder, the nine-year-old has already produced two licensed sons, and with his breeding value of 145 points he ranks among the top 10% of dressage sires in Germany. Lord Leopold comes from the interesting Vornholt line of Finnländerin. According to Thomas, Casper, proprietor of the Birkhof Stud, “It wasn’t an easy for my wife and me as 2015 was his year for sport and breeding."
